THE TEAM

The co-founders of 35M FILMS Fabien Colas and Émile V. Schlesser came together in 2012 through their shared passion for cinema and storytelling, eager to form a strong creative bond in the future. From the very beginning of their friendship, they have been developing projects that have steadily grown in scale. The duo embarked on several joint projects over the past 10 years, while separately pursuing their individual path internationally – Fabien as producer (and founder of Kite Rock Pictures) in the United States, Émile as multimedia artist and writer-director in Germany.

Lead by their vision of a long-term collaboration, Fabien and Émile decided to cement their creative partnership after having reached a certain level of experience and having built a significant track record together. After 4 award-winning short films, the duo felt ready to do so, co-founding their Luxembourg-based LLC production company 35M FILMS in May 2022 – turning their dream into reality, exactly 10 years after meeting for the first time.

FABIEN COLAS

Fabien lives in Los Angeles and travels back to Luxembourg on a regular basis. He runs Kite Rock Pictures in LA and has produced music videos for artists such as Miley Cyrus, or Camilla Cabello, as well as commercials for brands such as Pernod Ricard, Levis, Alexander Wang or Tagheuer. For narrative work, he was production manager on a feature film entitled ‘3022’ in 2019, and has produced a variety of short films that have gone on to screen at festivals such as Tribeca Film Festival. The goal is to spend more time in Luxembourg to work on projects with Émile and contribute to the Luxembourg film industry.

ÉMILE V. SCHLESSER

Émile is based in Luxembourg and Düsseldorf, Germany, where he studied art and film at the historic Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, under professors Markus Lüpertz and Marcel Odenbach. His diverse body of work stretches from narrative film to immersive installations, sculptures, video and painting, and has been exhibited in galleries and museums across Germany. In 2018 he graduated as ‘master student’ and has since focused on audiovisual storytelling. His short film Superhero, produced by Fabien, garnered international acclaim after winning the prestigious 13th Street Shocking Short 2020 award by NBC Universal.
